GROWTH MINDSET

To improve education outcomes, the Growth Mindset Project aimed to teach learners that, through persistence and effort, their abilities can grow. Using interactive videos and reflective exercises, the intervention targeted approximately 1000 learners in 20 low and no fees schools in the Western Cape to challenge their view on intelligence. AFTER SCHOOL MESSAGING

With education representing a crucial determinant of individual mobility and lifetime earnings, this study aimed to improve learner attendance at after-school programmes in the Western Cape by text messaging parents regarding their children’s attendance and information on potential future benefits of the programme—to refocus parents’ attention on their children’s education and to reduce misunderstandings between parents and children.
